UNAIR NEWS – Registration for state civil apparatus (ASN) selection has been opened since May 13. High public enthusiasm has made the competition very tight, so better preparation for the selection is needed. UNAIR’s alumnus from the Faculty of Nursing, Huda Prabowo, shared some tips on his experience taking part of 2019 ASN selection.

This attorney general’s staff shared some tips on how to pass the ASN selection. There are some basic administrative requirements, including a 3×4 formal photo with a red background, diploma and transcript scan, identity card, family card, registration letter for health workers, application letter, and school accreditation.

“For the application letter, make sure you notice for some additional information required by the agency, a lot of registrants don’t pass the administration selection because of that,” explained Huda.

To overcome this issue, Huda gave some tips to make notes of the detailed requirements. “All requirements should be considered and notes or a certain checklist should be made,” said Huda in an exclusive webinar, Successful Trick to Pass ASN Selection Test 2021. It was held by the Directorate of Career Development, Entrepreneurship Incubation, and Alumni Affairs on Sunday, June 13, 2021.

For administration selection, Huda gave these tips:

  1. 1. Read all the requirements carefully
  2. 2. Prepare all the documents needed
  3. 3. Use the highest quality scanner to scan the needed documents
  4. 4. Compress all the file to size max 500kb
  5. 5. Make sure that all documents readable
  6. 6. The accreditation letter must be signed by the campus and achieved when the ASN candidate graduated from college.
  7. 7. Ensure that the photo is of high quality with posture facing forward.

Some tips from Huda to face the selection test

Huda stated that he practiced for at least 3 hours a day. Even though he had a tight schedule at Universitas Airlangga, Huda was still able to make time to study for ASN selection test. He used a five-day pattern to study, two days summarizing the material and three days for some tryout test.

“How to make 3 hours amid my piled assignments to study,” said the alumnus of Faculty of Nursing.

With his busy schedule, Huda always maintained his health because, for his chosen agency, there is a health test.

“If you guys choose an agency with a health sub-test that can eliminate you, you have to maintain your health, maintain a good diet, and do exercise,” explained Huda.

“It’s very unfortunate if we had a high test score, provided the papers, but failed in the health test,” he added.

Furthermore, Huda also prepared for everything he needs long before the day of the test, so he did not panic. According to him, panicking may hinder your performance during the test.

“We can get panic if we prepare too close to the test date. We may forget what we learned,” said Huda.

Huda also mentioned that we have to treat all people well. He said that, there is a possibility that others’ prayers for us may be granted instead of ours.

“I encourage you to keep up your effort, pray and treat others well, who knows that God might grant the prayers of others,” concluded Huda.
