UNAIR NEWS – Consuming quail eggs provides health benefits with nutritional value not inferior to chicken eggs. According to Sunaryo Hadi Warsito.drh., MP lecturer of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), quail eggs are the best source of protein and fat. Every 100 grams of quail eggs contains 12.7 grams of protein and 9.89 grams of fat.

“Quail eggs contain high vitamin E in egg yolks and the sex hormone progesterone in the white and the egg yolk,” he said.

Therefore, production development is necessary for livestock farmers in producing quail eggs. Sunaryo said that laser puncture technology was effective in increasing the quantity and quality of quail eggs. This technology utilizes shortwave radiation beams that are fired at receptors (acupuncture points in livestock).

“Laser puncture technology also functions as a biological receptor that has links with related organs that can provide stimulatory, radiation, and inhibitory effects,” he explained.

The advantage of the laser method, he continued, is that it can provide results that are easily controlled precisely and more accurately. So that it can reduce production costs which will ultimately increase profits to farmers.

“The use of low-power lasers to stimulate acupuncture points is fast, simple, and harmless at each point because it is free from side effects. So this technology is relatively cheaper because one tool can be used en masse and with low operational costs,” he concluded.
