2000 students pass UNAIR SBMPTN 2021

UNAIR NEWS – The 2021 State University Joint Entrance Selection (SBMPTN) results were officially announced on Monday, June 14, 2021. Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., explained that 2000 students from various provinces and regions in Indonesia had passed the UNAIR SBMPT 2021 pathway.

As the fourth best university in Indonesia based on the QS WUR 2022, the total number of UNAIR SBMPTN 2021 pathway applicants was 27,338 students. According to the rector, students accepted through SBMPTN have good distribution, with the proportion of males 33.7% and females 66.3%.

“From this proportion, it was recorded that the students were from 742 schools, 29 provinces, and 69.10% of the students came from East Java, followed by DKI Jakarta, Central Java, and so on,” he said.

According to Prof. Nasih, among the total accepted students, there are 350 or 17.50 % students with Indonesian Smart Card – College (KPIK). Most are in Information and Library Science study program with 37.84%, Public Health (PSDKU Banyuwangi) with 37.50%, Indonesian Language and Literature, Physics, Biology, Accounting (PSDKU Banyuwangi), History, Nursing, Japanese Studies, and Chemistry with varying percentages.

“From this data, KIPK can still be used by registrants in the D3 (Three-year vocational program) and D4 (Four-year vocational program) independent pathways,” he said.

This year’s SBMPTN showed study programs with the most competition, including Medicine with 3.35 percent and Pharmacy with 4.41 percent in Science and Technology field. On the other hand, for Social and Humanities field, study programs with the most competition were Psychology with 3.46 percent and Communication Science with 4.20 percent. The highest UTBK scores achieved were from Medicine Study Program and the Communication Science Study Program.

“The highest score in Science and Technology was from Medicine Study Program with a score of 863, and the highest is Social and Humanities was from Communication Science with a score of 781,” he said.

Furthermore, Prof. Nasih revealed that there are five youngest participants who were accepted through UNAIR SBMPTN, Aqila Jazilaturrahma in Biology Study Program from MAS Unggulan Amanatul Ummah at 15 years 11 months old, Kinanti Pradnya Paramitha in Veterinary Medicine Study Program from SMAN 1 Kraksaan at 16 years 2 months, Mocca Cintaura in Veterinary Medicine Study Program from SMAN 1 Krian with the age of 16 years 3 months, Fatimah Hasya Puspa Kasih in Biomedical Engineering Study Program from MAN 2 Malang City with the age of 16 years 5 months, and Dhafina Nadhira in Data Science Technology Study Program from SMAN 1 Banjarmasin with the age of 16 years 6 months.

“Furthermore, Prof. Nasih advised students who passed the SBMPTN 2021 to immediately follow the registration procedure by preparing and providing certain required documents. Such information can be found on unair or ltmpt.ac.id websites. (*)
