UNAIR NEWS – Welcoming Eid al Fitr 1442 H, Universitas Airlangga  has held another social service and charity for blessings of Ramadan with the people of Surabaya and its surroundings. A total of 2,000 packages of basic commodities were provided and distributed by UNAIR to the target groups, such as pedicab drivers, online motorcycle taxi drivers, the elderly, employees affected by layoffs, and other people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.

With the other leaderships, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., released the distribution of the food packages at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) Campus C on Saturday, May 8, 2021. The packages are distributed in 27 cars. In total there are 24 points of targeted areas for food packages distribution.

According to the Head of Partnerships and Management Development Agency (BKMP), Dr. Eko Supeno, Drs., M.Si. , compared to the previous one, this year the number of packages has increased. Previously there were 1,500 packages of food supplies. The increasing trend is expected to continue in the following years.

“This time the target (region, ed) is distributed evenly throughout Surabaya and its surroundings. North, East, South, West Surabaya area, up to Central Surabaya area. We will share them on the spot, “he said.

“Also, thanks to the BKMP team and administrative staff, we can complete 2,000 packages containing 8 basic food items in a relatively short time,” added Dr. Eko.

Hopefully, the distribution of the basic food packages can reach and bring benefits to the community. On the other hand, said Prof. Nasih, this activity was part of the implementation of UNAIR’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) program. Especially on the first point, namely No Poverty.

“Hopefully we will still be given consistency to spread benefit, and goodness to the people, the Indonesian people. And hopefully it will be a blessing for all nature, “he said.

At the end, Prof. Nasih also thanked all parties who provided assistance, both material and non-material. Togetherness and unity in facing any situations in society is very important to be strengthened.

“Thank you, hopefully this will be a blessing for all of us. For UNAIR, for the community. And we are given the strength to continue to spread knowledge and goodness. Stay enthusiastic, stay healthy, “concluded Prof. Nasih. (*)
