UNAIR NEWS – Aulia tries to present a story and a clear message in every purchase of hijab as her business strategy. She really hopes that these messages can be conveyed from the unique design of her hijab products.
Aulia Puspita Supriyadi has a start-up business named Aulia Hijab. However, it was renamed to Castuarine, which means Confident, Authentic, Smart, Trustworthy, Unique, and Adorable . The rebranding was done by holding a Grand Launching ” Unlock Your Golden Mind ” at Grand City Mall, East Atrium, Surabaya, Sunday, March 14, 2021.
Aulia wants to introduce and convey the value of life as a support system for Indonesian women through hijab. Each Castuarine design has a story and a message.
“The uniqueness of this Castuarine hijab is manifested in the style and image of the hijab. Generally, a hijab has a flower pattern, but Castuarine comes with a portrait design of everyday life, ” she said.
The alumna of Biology Program, Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) Universitas Airlangga gave an example of the patterns and images of her products in the idea of the sea. There is a woman who is sailing the ocean. There is also the contemplation of life. There is a pattern of a woman contemplating under the trees.
“So, there is a picture telling a story on Castuarine’s hijab,” she said.
Aulia said that her startup has participated in some start-up and fashion competitions, including the BCIC (Bali Creative Industry Center) Competition held by the Ministry of Industry, UNAIR Startup Business and Incubation Development Board (BPBRIN) event, and EPIC ( East Java Province Investing, Crowdfunding, & Conference ) start-up business events .
After replanning her business in January 2021, Aulia began developing the products, including those related to the start-up business rebranding. Then, in February and March 2021, she has hold events.
“Currently, Castuarine is sold through marketplaces such as Shopee , Tokopedia , Instagram, and Whatsapp,” she said.
Aulia said, the highest turnover of her startup business achieved in February, approaching 7 million. The total current product reaches 120 hijabs.
“Fifty more pieces have just been completed. If calculated for a month, the total value is more than 10 million, ” she said.
In the future, Aulia and her six staff will work together with several platforms, companies and customers, especially to establish business cooperation and expand the network. (*)
