UNAIR NEWS – Higher Education Entrance Test Institute (LTMPT) has officially launched the State University Entrance Selection (SNMPTN, UTBK-SBMPTN) systems in 2021. Quoting from the LTMPT press release on Monday, January 4, 2021, the launch of the system aims to improve the quality of the new students’ selection admitted in State University (PTN) through three selection channels, SNMPTN, SBMPTN, and Independent selection.
Chairman of LTMPT, Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih on that occasion said that the development of a selection model is adjusted with the digital era and development of information technology. Through selection and test models developed continuously, he explained, LTMPT helps universities to obtain excellent student candidates.
“SNMPTN is a selection based only on academic scores and other achievements determined by PTN with full government subsidies,” he explained.
This year’s admission implementation will begin with LTMPT Account Registration via the https://portal.ltmpt.ac.id page from January 4 to February 1, 2021. The determination of eligible students is done by school from January 4, 2021 to February 8, 2021. PDSS form filling from January 11 to February 8, 2021. Registration of SNMPTN February 15 – 24, 2021. Announcement of SNMPTN Results is scheduled for March 22, 2021 and re-registration of participants who pass the SNMPTN, can check the university’s page.
Furthermore, Prof. Nasih also explained about Joint Entrance Test for State Universities (SBMPTN) is the selection of new PTN student candidates based on the results of the Computer-Based Examination (UTBK) only, or the results of UTBK and other criteria jointly set by state universities.
“The implementation of the test uses a computer at the participants’ expense and subsidized by the government,” he said.
The stages of taking part in 2021 SBMPTN begin with LTMPT Account Registration for UTBK and SBMPTN from February 7, 2021 to March 12, 2021. Registration for UTBK and SBMPTN is from March 15 to April 1, 2021. UTBK will be done in two periods, 1st batch on April 12-18, 2021, and 2nd batch from April 26 to May 2, 2021. Selection Result of the SBMPTN is announced on June 14, 2021.
Meanwhile, participants with Indonesia Smart Card (KIP) Tuition scholarship, especially for students from economically disadvantaged families, can apply for tuition assistance for KIP Tuition scheme.
