UNAIR FEB E-Week’s Social Action educates public to recover from Covid-19 pandemic condition

UNAIR NEWS – The Covid-19 pandemic has been a trending topic in the world throughout 2020. Furthermore, it has paralyzed various sectors of human life. Seeing the catastrophic impact, Student Executive Board of Faculty of Economics and Business (BEM FEB) Universitas Airlangga took an initiative to carry out Social Action as a part of Economic Week 2020 events (E-Week 2020).

Maulana Azhim Fikri as Head of E-Week said that Social Action (Socact) is a forum for FEB students to foster a community spirit. In addition, Socact is expected to be a forum for caring about social issues in the surrounding environment.

This time, the Social Action called “Heal the World” saw several areas affected by Covid-19. Social Action 2020 aims to provide education and information to the public about what needs to be restored and how to restore them.

“There are several areas that need recovery efforts when the Covid-19 pandemic is over, such as the economy, education, environment and other fields,” he added.

The student known well as Azhim revealed that there were three series of events on Socact, Sumbang Singgah Edukasi, Environment, Seminar and Talkshow online.

During Sumbang Singgah Edukasi (Contribute and Visit Education) event, BEM FEB UNAIR conducted an outreach to Tangguh Bumiarja urban community, Surabaya. It provided education regarding the importance of complying with health protocols.

“I hope that the implementation of this activity can encourage people to work together to prevent the spread of Covid-19,” he added.

In the field of environment, UNAIR BEM FEB conducted an education outreach to residents regarding hydroponic cultivation. The target of the was the residents of RW 3 Mulyorejo Surabaya.

At the online Seminar and talk show, UNAIR BEM FEB held a seminar entitled “Heal the World, How Do We Recover from The Pandemic Loss”. The speakers were Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, BBA, MBA and dr. Muhammad Riedha.

In the seminar, dr. Riedha discussed the social organization called Aksi Cepat Tanggap. dr. Riedha also discussed the state of Indonesia in the health sector during the pandemic as well as efforts that could be made to restore Indonesia’s condition in the health sector.

Meanwhile, Sandiaga discussed the state of the Indonesian economy during the Covid-19 pandemic and how to restore the economic sector. Sandiaga presented four topics, covid-19 in the economic sector, changing the mindset about the pandemic, technology as the first power, and business ideas during this pandemic.

“With this pandemic, we have to trigger an improvement in our distribution system. With technology we can use it as a platform to present a distribution system that is open, simple, fair and sustainable, ” said Sandiaga. (*)
