UNAIR D3 Tourism study program organized BIMTEK tourism village assistance program

UNAIR NEWS – D3 Tourism / Tourism Development Study Program has organized a Technical Guidance Program (Bimtek) for tourism village managers in the South Lamongan area. The program is the result of the collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Universitas Airlangga. Moreover, D3 Tourism Study Program / Tourism Development Program chosen as the executor for this activity.

Tourism assistance guidance program is the highlight for community service programs that have been held on previous days. Dr. Sri Endah Nurhidayati, as the chief executive, said the program is essential to maintain the enthusiasm of rural communities in developing tourist village.

“We hope that the program can encourage rural communities to develop their area into a tourist village,” said D3 Tourism / Tourism Development lecturer.

Twenty-five participants joined the event at Lotus Garden Hotel Kediri on Wednesday, September 30. They implemented COVID-19 prevention protocol before entering the hotel ballroom. Apart from that, all of the participant wore masks, washed their hands and also took a rapid test. Besides, there were 2 participants attended and had to be sent home for quarantine in 14 days.

Participants followed the material enthusiastically as seen from the question and answer session, which lasted for three sessions. In the first session, participants received material about CHSE (Clean, Health, Safety, Environment) in tourist areas, Tourism Product Development, and Excellent Service. In the second session, participants received material about Sapta Pesona Tourism and the Development of BUMDES (Village-Owned Enterprises) in the tourism sector. In the last session, participants received material about website development techniques and photography techniques for the promotion of tourist objects.

The speakers were from cross-program lecturers from D3 Tourism / Tourism Development Study Program, D3 Hospitality Management, D3 Office Administration, and D3 Instrumentation System Automation Faculty of Vocational Studies Universitas Airlangga. Besides, there were some practitioners of tourist villages as well.

The event starts at 10.00 WIB and ends at 17.00 WIB. However, the participants were still enthusiastic in joining the events from beginning to end. Wisnu, as the head of Pataan Village Tourism Awareness Group (Pokdarwis), Sambeng District, expressed his gratitude to the team from Universitas Airlangga for consistently assisting his village to become a tourist village. Hopefully, the program will continue in the future.
