UNAIR NEWS – Off Main Campus Study Program (PSDKU) UNAIR Student Family (KM), through its Ministry of Communication and Information (KOMINFO), held School of Journalism last week. In contrast to the previous year, this year’s School of Journalism (SeJu) collaborated with TIMES Indonesia, one of Indonesia’s big online news portals.
The activity started on Saturday, September 19, was intended for all PSDKU UNAIR students interested in journalism. Agung Satriyo Bayu, who was in charge of the event, said that the journalism training was a learning place for students interested in journalism.
“Collaborating with one of professional media, TIMES Indonesia, we held the School of Journalism with an expectation that it could become a forum for those interested in journalism as a learning process,” explained Agung to UNAIR NEWS team on Monday, September 21.
In this activity, he continued, participants were taught journalism writing by Rizki Alfian Restiawan and documentation techniques by Agung Sedana, TIMES Indonesia’s journalists.
“Not only giving insights, later Seju will give an assignment to create news about the campus which will be assessed and reviewed directly by TIMES Indonesia journalists,” said Agung. “The winner will be announced on October 4 and will get a reward from us,” he added.
Closing the meeting with the UNAIR NEWS team, Agung hoped that this SeJu could provide knowledge, experience, and networks about journalism to students who want to develop their potential. In addition, he also hoped that with this event, the journalists would be able to introduce UNAIR PSDKU better at the national level.
“I hope this can be a medium for students who want to develop their potential in the field of journalism so that later they are expected to be new journalists who can promote campus at the national level,” he concluded.
