Faculty of Nursing develops nursing job market application

UNAIR NEWS – Nurses are the most needed health human resources with the most proportion. However, there is a mismatch between the number of graduates and available jobs. As time has evolved and shifted to the digital era, nurses should be able to be facilitated in getting information easily on decent work and in accordance with their competences.

Universitas Airlangga, especially Faculty of Nursing, played an active role in addressing this issue and initiated a development of nursing job market application. It was conveyed in a community service activity at Center for Planning and Empowerment of Health Human Resources, BPPSDMK, Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkes RI) on Friday last week.

The community service team was chaired by Ferry Efendi, S.Kep., Ns., M.Sc., PhD with Dr. Retno Indrawati, S.Kp., M.Kep, Sylvia Dwi Wahyuni, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep (Lecturer of Faculty of Nursing) and Ika Adelia Susanti, a graduate student in the Faculty of Nursing as members. Regarding this matter, the Head of Center for Planning and Empowerment of Health Human Resources, BPPSDMK, Ministry of Health, Dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM, MARS., responded well initiation carried out by Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Faculty of Nursing team.

“The availability of health human resources, especially nurses, is great in number but still cannot be utilized optimally, we are very pleased with this innovative proposal that can help giving nurses’ access to getting jobs in accordance with their competencies,” said Dr. Maxi.

Dr. Maxi Rein Rondonuwu, DHSM, MARS., also said that efforts to utilize health human resources are not only the responsibility of Ministry of Health, but the community, especially educational institutions which can also play a role in it.

An important concern is the integration with various government and professional organizations so that the contribution of the nursing job market application can be significant and has an impact on the career development of Indonesian nurses. Next, the discussion continued with structural officials within the BPPSDMK, Ministry of Health in order to provide advice and improvements for the nursing job market android application.

“We hope that nurses especially Universitas Airlangga graduates get suitable jobs after they graduate both domestically and abroad. In addition, the use of information technology is also the key to accessing various job opportunities that exist, “he said.

In the end, Faculty of Nursing team of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) hoped that the nursing job market application that has been developed can be a solution for nurses in Indonesia to get decent works.
