UNAIR NEWS – In order to reorganize and optimize services of Airlangga University Hospital (RSUA), RSUA limited services for Covid-19 patients. UNAIR Institute of Tropical Disease or ITD, which is a testing place for Covid-19 samples, only accepts samples from RSUA.

In this regard, UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih said that the temporary limited services of RSUA and ITD was an effort to improve internal management. There are more than 100 patients who are being treated at RSUA and it is increasing day by day.

“Because we have limited beds, of course, we take temporary closure policy. We do not want to insist on receiving patients while there is no available beds. It will only create new problems. It is not possible for the patient to be treated carelessly or even put in the emergency room, “said Prof. Nasih.

Prof. Nasih also said the temporary limited service is a joint effort to conduct internal re-structuring and facility improvement. He explained that it happened due to bed limitations.

“However, it is also in the process of improvement. Everything needs time and design, in the near future there will be an additional 100, “he said.

Regarding the temporary limited service at ITD, Prof. Nasih, also said it was closely related to the limitations of human resources. Once again, this is temporary and also part of the effort to prepare better human resources and testing tools. In the future, he does not want any Covid-19 sample buildup that has to wait a long time in the testing process.

“After this internal arrangement, we want the samples coming in that day can be processed and the results can be given immediately. Once again, the actions and policies that we take, all for the safety and health of many parties. Both the community and medical staff, “he concluded.
