UNAIR NEWS – Joy is clearly seen from Karina Sabrina. The 18-year-old girl passed the university entrance through State University National Entrance Selection (SNMPTN) for a seat in UNAIR Faculty of Medicine (FK) on Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

This result Karina get is not from luck. In an interview with UNAIR NEWS, Karina said that she had struggled for a long time. The girl who loves journalism was often forced to leave class during high school to cover stories on various occasions.

“From the first grade of high school I joined journalism extracurricular activities, so I often left my lessons. I have to be proactive and ask about the lessons to teachers and friends, “said the teenager born in Canberra, August 27, 2002.

Even so, her passion actually became Karina’s motivation and enthusiasm for learning and reaching her dreams. “I know getting into FK UNAIR is difficult and it is the dream of many people. Alhamdulillah, it has been my dream since kindergarten. I am very grateful, ” she said.

Since the beginning of high school, Karina has been determined to study at Faculty of Medicine. She knew the path she was going to take would be full of struggle.

Karina is grateful her parents gave her big support, so she managed to pass SNMPTN. In addition to prayer backup and support, Karina’s parents give her freedom to choose online or offline cram school.

“I don’t go outside. At night after working on homework, I continue studying for tomorrow’s lessons. I usually look for a moodbooster before studying. Sometimes I watch videos or listen to music, ” she said.

“If I don’t get something, I usually ask the school teacher outside class hours too. I didn’t write the material directly taught by the teacher, I developed it to understand it more, ” she added.

Furthermore, Karina also participates actively in academic and non-academic competitions. In 2018, she even won 1st Place for Teenizen Journalism at BBS TV at regional level. She also represented the school at the city-level science olympiad in mathematics.

“I also often take part in seminars, journalism activities, and filming activities,” said Karina, who is the committee of 2018 Jazz Traffic Festival.

Karina admitted that her busy activities did not make it difficult for her to study. For the member of the Surabaya Young Voice Community, it is important to enjoy the learning process.

“Live it. Enjoy the process, it’s important not to stand still. Gradually we can consider which is more important and which comes first, “said the eldest of two siblings.

The girl from Surabaya once had to do a supplementary test verbally because she could do the regular test. Karina’s grades also fluctuated, so it made her a bit anxious in passing SNMPTN.

“There are always worriness, but the word impossible could be I’m possible where the letters I and M moved with our efforts, both physically and mentally,” she said.

“Good behavior, best inspiration “. That’s the motto of Karina. To other prospective Airlangga Knights, Karina advised them to have consistency in training. (*)
