UNAIR NEWS – Amid various efforts made to reduce the risk of coronavirus or COVID-19’s transmission, an image of Universitas Airlangga COVID-19 healthcare tariffs went viral on social media and discussed among the public. The information contained in the JPG format showed a variety of examination packages for patients from Package A, B, C, to Package D with the breakdown of prices and stages of inspection.
Responding to the circulation of this information, Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RSUA) held a press conference on Thursday afternoon, March 19, 2020 at Dharmawangsa Hall, 8th Floor, Universitas Airlangga Hospital. It was attended by the Medical Services Manager M. Ardian Cahya Laksana., dr., Sp.OG (K)., M. Kes .; Head of the Corona Task Force Prastuti Asta Wulaningrum, dr., Sp.P .; Research and Development Manager Dr. Anggraini Dwi Sensusiati, dr., Sp. Rad (K) .; and Head of Public Relations and PKRS Division Nily Sulistyorini, dr., Sp., F.M.
M. Ardian said that Universitas Airlangga Hospital is always obedient, and subject to applicable regulations, in this case the Ministry of Health Regulation (Permenkes).
There are several Permenkes that become a reference. First, Number 07 / Menkes / 1692020 concerning Designation of Referral Hospitals. Second, Permenkes No. 59/2016. And, the third, Permenkes HK.0107 / Menkes / 182/2020 concerning Corona Examination Laboratory Network.
“In principle, UNAIR Hospital obeys and subject to applicable regulations,” he said.
“So from those regulations, there are already technical and implementation guidelines for the implementation of this corona inspection and its financing, including its financing criteria,” M. Ardian added.
First, said M. Ardian, for general public with symptoms of COVID-19, COVID-19 examination will be free of charge. What is meant by the symptoms of COVID-19 is in the form of fever more than 38 degrees Celsius, cough, shortness of breath, and have a history of positive contact, and or have a history of traveling to the affected area which is then diagnosed by the doctor as ODP (person in monitoring) or PDP (patient under surveillance).
“Once again, this is the first point for the general public with the symptoms (COVID-19, ed) earlier,” he said.
“Then it was confirmed by the doctor who checked it as ODP or PDP, then the examination was not charged,” he added.
Secondly, explained M.Ardian, for people who do not have indications or symptoms of COVID-19 and the doctor’s diagnosed them as non-ODP or non-PDP, or most people who panic and wanted to be tested, they will be charged.
Next, thirdly, examinations as requested by institutions such as BUMN (State-Owned Enterprises), BUMD (Regional-Owned Enterprises), Local Government (Regional Government), banking companies, and private companies are charged according to the applicable MCU (Medical Check-up) tariff in RSUA. Plus the cost of examination or test of throat and nose swabs (COVID-19 PCR swab).
