UNAIR NEWS – The spread of coronavirus (covid-19) in Indonesia, the announcement caused some panic. It results in the distortion of information that can not be justified.

To ward off hoax information circulating in the community, Universitas Airlangga Hospital took quick steps regarding patient data, Alfian Nur Rosyid dr. Sp.P, FAPSR (Head of Coronavirus Task Force). Two people were declared ODP (person in observation) due to experiencing complaints of fever, cough, and shortness of breath.

“One person experienced complaints after a long trip abroad (Japan), while one other patient had interacted with people around him who indicated the disease,” he said.

Based on the results of X-rays, continued Dr. Alfian, two people with ODP status showed no picture of pneumonia. So no need for throat swab test. Even so, both of them must continue to be treated in isolation at RSKI (Special Hospital for Infection) until their condition improves.

“The observation will make it sure after 7 days,” he explained.

In addition, due to panic state in the community, community visits to the Crisis Center to date are approximately 40-50 people. Those who come will be screened for the condition. If they are not indicated with the virus, they will be given education related to the prevention of the virus.
