Khun Nay Win Tun first ADS graduate from Myanmar delivers speech in graduation

UNAIR NEWS – Graduation of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held on Sunday, March 8, 2020, went solemnly. With Lir-ilir song in the background, Rector of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT, Ak., CMA together with other leaderships of UNAIR entering Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) and marked the beginning of the graduation ceremony for March 2020 period.

A warm welcome was given by the Executive Board of IKA UNAIR Mirza Mutaqien S.H., to the graduates who that day officially joined as members of Universitas Airlangga Alumni Association (IKA).

“I, as the representative of IKA UNAIR, congratulates you for your success graduating from degree programs and completing your studies. Congratulations for joining UNAIR alumni, we hope that you can develop your alumni network and at the same time contribute more to our beloved alma mater, Universitas Airlangga, “said Mirza Mutaqien.

Furthermore, Dr. Khun Nay Win Tun, one of the recipients of Airlangga Development Scholarship (ADS) from Myanmar, had the opportunity to give a speech representing the graduates. Khun was listed as the first graduate to receive an ADS scholarship.

“Today is the end of a long journey of our struggle for education. I am very grateful to God in our effort to gain knowledge to become experts in their respective fields,” he said.

The students of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPA) program at Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) offered many thanks and encouraged the graduates to contribute positively to the surrounding environment.

“I represent my colleagues here to express our gratitude to all those who have given the contribution supporting us in our journey through education, especially to lecturers who have educated us, ” he added.

He said that the inaugural ceremony this time was not the end of the struggle, but was a new beginning to realize a higher dream. The first graduate from ADS said that this success was not his own but belonged to all elements which had contributed to help him.

“I want to say a big thank you to the Language Center for teaching me the Indonesian language so that I can adapt to the environment. My deepest gratitude, most importantly, to Universitas Airlangga, which has led me to get five Scopus indexed journals, “said the student from Myanmar. (*)
