FKM UNAIR Invites Students of Mahidol University in PKL Bojonegoro

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) sent 220 fifth semester students of the Public Health Study Program (Kesmas) and five students of Mahidol University to conduct fieldwork practices (PKL) in Bojonegoro Regency. The FKM students were welcomed by Bojonegoro regency government held on Friday, December 27, 2019 at Malopati Hall, Bojonegoro.

Prof. Dr. Tri Martiana, dr., MS as the Dean of FKM UNAIR in her speech expressed her gratitude to the Regent of Bojonegoro and all of the staff for their willing to accept students to conduct PKL there. Prof. Tri also advised students to apply all of the knowledge they gained in college.

“For students, be smart to serve in the community, don’t be afraid to ask questions and learn in the community,” said Prof. Tri to the students.

Representing the Bojonegoro Regent, the Regent’s expert staff in the Community and Human Resources of Bojonegoro Regency, Ninik Susmiati, SKM., MMKes explained that there were at least three priority health problems in the Bojonegoro regency, stunting and nutritional problems; universal health coverage; and open defecation free (ODF).

“Hopefully what students will do can bring a better change to Bojonegoro community,” she said.

In the future, the fifth semester Public Health Student will conduct PKL for 35 days from December 27, 2019 to January 31, 2020. (*)
