WUACD signs MoU with four universities in Uzbekistan

UNAIR NEWS – Since its establishment in 2018, UNAIR World University Association for Community Development (WUACD) has continued to strive to increase promotion and cooperation between universities in the world. Recently, WUACD successfully established cooperation with four universities in Uzbekistan.

The four universities are Tashkent State University of Economics in the city of Tashkent, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages and Silk Road International Institute of Tourism in Samarkand, and Bukhara State University in Bukhara.

Contacted by UNAIR NEWS on Monday, November 26, 2019, Prof., Dr., Drs. H. Jusuf Irianto M.Com. explained that the collaboration carried out was related to the Tri dharma of higher education, especially in the field of community service.

“UNAIR and four universities will send lecturers and students to each other to do community service or other activities,” explained the Director of WUACD known as Prof. Jusuf.

The aim of the collaboration is to expand the network and increase WUACD members. It was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU).

“The results of the visit have been reported to the Rector of UNAIR and it received a very positive response. UNAIR will follow up the MoU which was approved by the Rector, ” he continued.

Prof. Jusuf hoped that the collaboration would not only stop with the MoU’s signing session. However, the MoU must be implemented.

“With the collaboration, UNAIR hopes to provide the widest opportunity for lecturers and students to get involved in WUACD activities in the form of community service abroad,” stated Prof. Jusuf. (*)
