UNAIR NEWS – Classroom learning is a standard method to be applied. From this learning, students only get theories from lecturer explanations.
One of UNAIR Faculty of Public Health (FKM) lecturers named Inge Dhamanti S.KM., M.Kes., M.PH., Ph.D invited students to take a field trip directly to Surabaya Haji Hospital in Surabaya on Friday, September 20. The main purpose of the activity is applying the theory directly obtained by students in the class so that their understanding of the theory increases.
Inge said that providing other learning methods is important so students can understand the material. One alternative learning method that can be applied is to carrying out field trips.
“The field trip is hospital management course and the hospital field trip activity is our first time experience,” she said.
She revealed the faculty fully support this learning method. In the end, the field trip activities can be carried out.
“First, I asked permission to the faculty and they support this learning method activity,” she explained.
Previously, the activity had been carried out by FKM students who came from other classes to Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RSUA). Inge said that students need to get more knowledge from various hospital to exchange information with one another.
In the end, the student will gain a comprehensive understanding through the field trip activities, and they can apply the theory directly.
“Hopefully, students gain new knowledge of the hospital comprehensively, not only theoretically,” she concluded. (*)
