Khofifah Expects State Universities in East Java to Support Provincial Government Programs

UNAIR NEWS – In order to improve the quality of Human Development Index (HDI) in East Java Province, East Java Rectors’ Forum and the Government of East Java Province held “East Java Province Development Program FGD in 2019 with the Rectors’ Forum”.

Being held in AMERTA Hall Campus C Universitas Airlangga on Saturday, August 10, the event was attended by East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parwansa. In front of the rectors’ forum and the government officials, Khofifah emphasized that the provincial government expects various state universities in East Java to be involved actively in determining policies of East Java, especially policies on HDI quality improvement.

Furthermore, the first female governor also invited policymakers at PTN to optimize each university’s strength. She hoped that it could support the development of East Java.

“From the excellence showed by each state university, I hope they can support the government optimally for betterment of East Java,” she said.

Meanwhile, in response to the governor’s statement, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih said the same thing. For him, PTN in East Java could see each other’s strengths and then improve it to get a better policy direction, especially in supporting the program of East Java Provincial Government.

For example, continued Prof. Nasih, as the rector who leads the university with excellence in the field of health, he is fully committed to supporting various improvements in the field of health of East Java. He emphasized that it has been proven by the many involvements of the academic community in developing and carrying out various health breakthroughs for the people of East Java.

“We excel in the field of health and we are ready to support the alleviation of various health problems in East Java,” said Prof. Nasih.
