NEWS UNAIR – Devita Theodora Prawira, a member of Airlangga Orchestra Student Activity Unit (UKM), played the viola at ORKESKITA concert with Addie MS, on Friday, July 12, 2019 at Usmar Ismail Hall, Jakarta.
Devita, or known as Vita, is grateful that she could participate in Addie MS’s concert, as she gained a lot of experience from it, from the audition stage to the final stage.
“From stage 1, the audition, there was only me, then two additional people from the violin section. I was not very confident to pass the 2nd stage audition, but thank God, I was trusted to join the concert, ” she said.
She did not only gain experience with Addie MS for playing his work, but she learned discipline, ethics, and everything related to music. She even met a teenager who was younger with great musical talent. There are also people with disabilities with exceptional musical abilities.
“In the event, people with disabilities with exceptional musical abilities were invited, and they amazed everyone including me and I believe that every person is special and talented with their own way,” she said.
She has played the viola since junior high school and often plays music in church. Devita hoped that in the future she would be immersed in music and continue to learn more in music.
“I hope I could learn more in music and never feel satisfied with what I have now. Never feel satisfied and keep learning, ” she explained. (*)
