UNAIR Banyuwangi Utilizes Regional Events for Branding

UNAIR NEWS – Standing in the city with the most number of events in Indonesia, this opportunity is not just missed by PSDKU UNAIR campus in Banyuwangi. Starting at the end of June, two major events were held in Banyuwangi, namely National Youth Scientific Camp and 2019 Banyuwangi Innovation Festival.

The first event was PIRN or National Youth Scientific Camp, and it was carried out by Indonesian Institute of Sciences (LIPI) in UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU campus area, more precisely at SMAN 1 Giri which was located next to UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU campus.

Taking place from 24-29 June 2019, the PIRN event provides booths that can be filled by school and campus in Banyuwangi to showcase scientific works or innovation from their respective agencies.

Bondan Sigit as Head of Student Family of UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU campus said they would not want to miss the opportunity, especially around the campus area.

“With many participants of elementary, middle, and high school students from all over the country, making our campus increasingly known on the national scale. Therefore, we open a special stand to provide information related to the university, “he explained.

The second event, 2019 Banyuwangi Innovation Festival routinely held every year to provide an opportunity for an educational institution to show off in terms of scientific innovations, including the UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU campus.

Taking place on 29-30 June in Gesibu Blambangan Banyuwangi, the education staff and student worked together to prepare the campus stand at the festival. With UNAIR’s unique blue nuance decorations, there were several innovations by UNAIR Banyuwangi PSDKU students. Starting from coffee products from Accounting students, barnacle pellet products from Veterinary Medicine students, aquascape and apartment fish display from Aquaculture student.

Furthermore, PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi stands also provided free medical examinations for visitors in the morning, and free animal examination in the afternoon on Sunday, June 30.

“From the two events, hopefully, the campus will be better known and glimpsed by the wider community,” said Bondan. (*)
