Indah Azhari Attends 2019 IICC Global Youth Muslim Exchange Malaysia

UNAIR NEWS – Indah Azhari, 2016 Faculty of Nursing (FKp) Universitas Airlangga  (UNAIR) student was one of the delegates of International Islamic Cultural Connect Global Youth Muslim Exchange Program on Saturday, April 11, 2019 – Monday, April 13, 2019 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Indah was chosen after going through various selections from administration to the interview phase.

“Alhamdulillah, I am very grateful to be a delegate and gain a lot of experience, knowledge and relations during the program,” Indah said.

The annual program held every year in various countries aims to realize young generation of Muslims with vast insights, especially on education and Islamic culture. In the implementation, the activities included visiting various educational institutions and studying Islamic culture in each destination state.

Indah Azhari had the opportunity to meet 6 participants from different universities, Indonesia University, Sriwijaya University, Semarang State University, Riau University, Andalas University, and Indonesian Institute of Education.

During International Islamic Cultural Connect Global Youth Muslim Exchange program, participants had the opportunity to visit Kolej Universiti Islamic Anatarabangsa Selangor, Global Halal Support Center, Galeri Bank Negara Malaysia, Masjid Putra, Masjid Asy-Syakirin, KLCC and Petronas Twin TowerAccording to Indah, the most memorable memories was when interacting with students from University of Islamic Anatarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) College and the Global Halal Support Center.

“We were welcomed by Dean of Faculty of Economics, University Student Representative Council, and representatives of International Students. I could exchange stories about my studies, organizations, and ask about the activities of Muslim students in KUIS. When I was at Global Halal Support Center, I gained new knowledge about strict supervision of halal food exports, not only in terms of food composition but also the cleanliness of the vehicles used for distribution, ‘hallalan thoyyiban’ is not only halal but also ‘ thoyyib’ (good), ” he added.
