UNAIR NEWS – TBRP or Joint Tutor to Make Achievements is one of the work programs of Science Department of Aquaculture Student Association (HIMAKUA) PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi. According to Nanik Ning Rahayu, as head of the Science Department of HIMAKUA, TBRP is an activity that aims to hone the practical skills of Aquaculture students.

“TBRP is a learning activity outside our lectures, the practical lessons will be from lecturers, practical assistant, and final semester students,” she explained.

The 2016 Aquaculture program student also explained some of the expected output from TBRP activities. Some of them include giving student knowledge in an effort to improve soft skills and hard skills, being able to practice the knowledge that has been taught in the scientific writing work (PKM) or thesis, gaining applied knowledge, and balanced understanding on theory and applied science.

“Furthermore, this TBRP is also expected to be able to increase the students’ interest and enthusiasm and to strengthen ties between classes in FPK,” she added.

According to Nanik, the activities conducted since last year will be intensified for 2019, because in 2018 the target of TBRP was five meetings, but only two meetings were held.

“For this year, we will hold two meetings each semester, the next meeting will be in May, and we will open it not only for FPK students, but other faculty students are also welcome to participate, such as FKH,” Nanik said.

TBRP is open to general students, because the material presented is also general in nature, according to Nanik’s statement, one of them was about extraction.

“We say extraction as general material, because the practice is not only useful for FPK students, some other fields of science also need that practice,” she said.

To increase student interest in TBRP activities, HIMAKUA Scientific Department has a unique way, by giving an appreciation to the most active participants and on time.

As the head of Science Department, Nanik hoped that TBRP will continue to be held every year because according to her, these activities are very important to improve the knowledge and insight of students.

“And hopefully in the future, the meetings at TBRP will be held regularly with the latest themes and material to create a competent millennial generation of fisheries,” she concluded. (*)
