UNAIR NEWS – Participating in inter-university competitions is something that Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) students enjoy. This can be seen in the activeness of UNAIR students in participating and winning competitions at regional, national and even international levels.
One of the achievements was from UNAIR Volleyball which participated in Ma Chung Olympiad and won second place. The competition lasts for 3 weeks and was held on Saturday-Sunday.
The competition was participated by 15 teams, UNAIR volleyball team was one of them. The final of the competition was held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Pertiwi Building, Ma Chung University, Malang. Ma Chung Olympiad Volleyball Competition 2019 final round was between UNAIR team and UIN Malang team.
The achievement was not the first time made by UNAIR Volleyball women’s team. In 2017, UNAIR team also won 2nd place in the same competition.
According to Saviral Auril, UNAIR D3 Office Administration student and UNAIR team’s libero, the preparations made by the UNAIR Volleyball team were done through regular training and sparring matches with teams from different universities. “The kinship and cohesiveness of this volleyball team is always well maintained. Because we realize that this is a support and enthusiasm for winning in every competition that is followed, ” she said.
UNAIR Volleyball team conducts exercises on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 16.30-19.00 in Campus C UNAIR volleyball court. They also often practice with other university teams. (*)
