Closing of ASIC Accreditation, Rector: Accreditation Aims to Improve University Quality

UNAIR NEWS – International accreditation ASIC (Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges, and Universities) held for five days at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) was officially closed on Friday, March 29. The closing event was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE., MT., Ak., located at Kahuripan Hall 301 Room, UNAIR Management Office.

Fourteen social-humanities study programs have undergone international accreditation process. Lee Hammond as CEO of ASIC said the assessment result will be presented next month. The results will be accumulated from several categories that have been determined.

Furthermore, Prof. Nasih said UNAIR is currently improve its university quality. The university focused on teacher quality especially for deans and lecturers in the scientific field.

“Hopefully, data and information obtained together can ensure the quality of UNAIR in academic field.” added Prof. Nasih.

In social-humanities study program, UNAIR will continue to explore and expand information held globally. Prof. Nasih hopes UNAIR will be in a strategic position for the Top 500 World Class University (WCU) in the next five years.

Head of Communication Department, Dr. Yayan Sakti Suryandaru S.Sos., M.Si., said in international accreditation, there were thirteen study programs succeeded in achieving accrediatation.

“ASIC assesment were service users, infrastructure, and facilities.” said Yayan.

In addition to improving scientific work, Yayan said qualified graduates became an important assessment in international accreditation.

As for the positive impact of organizing ASIC, registered study programs can improve their quality. Yayan emphasized the improvement were carried out for lecturers’ rooms, students guidance, reading rooms and discussion place must be corrected. (*)
