UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga has just hosted the first congress of Indonesian Halal Auditor Association (PAHI). It was an honor for UNAIR to hold such national event. It was attended by more than 40 participants, both from academics of state universities (PTN) and the State Islamic Religious College (PTKIN).

The congress was held at Kahuripan Hall 301 UNAIR Management Office, on Saturday, March 30, 2019. The congress themed ‘Halal Auditor Association Strengthens the Implementation of Guaranteed Halal Products in Indonesia’ was held to form the 2019 PAHI Congress formation. The output of the congress is expected to be one of the supporting components for the establishment of halal curriculum.

The activities held by UNAIR Center for Halal Studies consisted of three sessions, the reading of the Bylaws, the auditor’s code of ethics, and the proposed work program for PAHI 2019 management.

There are seven formations nominated in the steering committee and / or participants. While prospective candidates are the participants of the congress.

“There are seven formation selected at this congressional session,” said the chairman of the 2019 PAHI congress Prof. Dr. Widayat, ST., MT.

The seven formulations are the result of proposals as well as voting session given by participant auditors from all over Indonesia. While from the trial that has been conducted, the elected chairman is Dr. H. Mustofa Helmi Effendi drh., DTAPH with the vice chairman Prof. Dr. Widayat, ST., MT. who received seventeen votes from a number of participants attending.

“The congress is expected to be able to contribute both to our country and to the benefit of Muslims,” ​​said UNAIR Vice Rector I Prof. Djoko Santoso when conveying expectation from the congress.

Prof. Djoko also said that wherever possible the implementation of PAHI performance in the future can be used as a study material. In addition, Prof. Djoko hoped that the auditor screening will complement the synchronization between UNAIR and other universities. (*)
