UNAIR NEWS – There is good news coming from Hasbi Ashshidiqqi, a D3 Taxation student at Faculty of Vocational Studies at Universitas Airlangga 2015. He was named an outstanding graduate in March 2019 graduation period.
The man who is known as Hasbi believes that learning is the only way to get a better future.
“A knife is useful because it’s sharpened. Just like intelligence, it must also be consistently developed by learning diligently, “said Hasbi.
Thanks to his perseverance, he has made a lot of achievements, such as winning various national level debate competitions in several leading Indonesian universities, scientific writing competitions, 2017 Faculty of Vocational Studies Outstanding Student, and becoming the Top 5 language ambassadors of 2018 in East Java Province.
Hasbi revealed that one of his remarkable achievements was when he won Gadjah Mada Competition # 2 National Debate at UGM in 2017. The winner of the debate competition received a presidential cup of Indonesia.
“The first winner received the presidential cup of the Republic of Indonesia, second winner received a trophy from Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, and third winner III received Kemenpora trophy,” he continued.
On the other hand, Hasbi admitted that he had missed his 2018 graduation. That was because Hasbi was still preoccupied with debate competitions and scientific papers. Then he decided to stop taking part in the competition when he was on 7th semester.
Even so, Hasbi is not sad. According to him, as long as the delay is filled with useful activities. All will not be wasted.
Joining debate competitions for Hasbi is like going to a battlefield. The competition participants were required to fight hard. It is like a mental booster, which encourages participants to be strong and move forward. Regarding the scientific writing competition, for Hasbi, someone will be remembered if they create works including from writing activities.
“I dedicated my time to participate in competitions. I will accept whatever the risks, including the delay in graduation, “Hasbi added.
Finally, Hasbi advised his juniors to always accept failure in every process of their journey to the summit because actually there are no success without failures. (*)
