UNAIR NEWS – “Being in final semesters is not a barrier to make achievements” said Sarah Savira Moarifin. One of the Development Economics students at Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga.
Her frequent participation in various ambassador selection events did not stop her to try and hone skills further. Sarah never expected to win Miss Intelligence in 2019 Putri Indonesia East Java.
“Alhamdulillah, it is quite surprising to get a new achievement in my busy schedule working on thesis in order to graduate this year,” added one of the members of FEB Ambassador Association.
When she registered for the event, Sarah was reluctant. She knew about it four days before registration period is closed, she said, one of her friends informed her.
“Out of the blue, a friend of mine sent a message so that I follow the event,” she recalled.
Unexpectedly, two days before the registration was closed, Sarah resigned because there was no preparation. However, thanks to the support of friends and parents, Sarah made up her mind and continued her struggle.
“I did not have a strong resolve. I was hesitant, not confident, ” she said.
Sarah said after reaching a grand final, she chose to practice dancing privately. Sarah prefers to dance because it is the apparent talent she has. And, she also practiced public speaking with his friend, Yuk Sidoarjo.
“Because of the diverse talents of participants with extraordinary preparation, the competition was very tight. So, inferiority sometimes emerges, but I had to be able to deal with it, ” she said.
Not only that, the 12 finalists are required to take care of themselves so that they still look special in front of everyone. So, the appearance is very well regulated because the first winner will be sent to the National Princess, then sent to the International beauty event. With optimism, Sarah always encouraged her.
“I have to believe that I can do it, I deserve to win something,” she said. (*)
