UNAIR NEWS – In 2019, there will be additional quota for students to be admitted at Universitas Airlangga. It was conveyed by UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih during SNMPTN and SBMPTN dissemination to school principals from 310 schools in East Java. The dissemination was held on Monday, Feb. 11, 2019, at Garuda Mukti Hall, UNAIR Management Office.

The UNAIR Rector said that in 2018, UNAIR bachelor’s degree pathway received 5,125 students, then in 2019 UNAIR will admit a total of 5485 students. The classification, 1650 students for SNMPTN, 2195 students for SBMPTN, and 1640 students for independent admission.

The programs with additional quota are Faculty of Dental Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Public Health, and several engineering programs.

“The increasing quota is adjusting with the facilities and infrastructure in each program,” said Prof. Nasih to hundreds of school principals.

The components for SBMPTN assessment is derived from the student index and school index. The school index is the determined capacity for each program. Student index is calculated by the central committee, in this case University Entrance Test Agency (LTMPT).

“The first index used for SBMPTN pathway is the school index, written test results that come from their respective high schools. So, SBMPTN result of students in each school greatly influences the school index, “explained UNAIR Rector.

Even if the students’ score is high, it still depends on the school index and the student may not be accepted.

On that occasion, UNAIR Rector also encouraged the school representatives to recommend students with extraordinary achievements, especially in the field of science, for example international Olympiad. Because the certificate and recommendation will be taken into consideration by UNAIR.

For students who have been admitted by SNMPTN or SBMPTN in UNAIR but resigned or failed to re-register will affect the credibility of the school.

“It is recommended to students that for registration and choosing a program, the students have determined their choice well,” explained the rector. If the student does not re-register (resign, ed), it will affect the student’s school index,” he added.

Through this dissemination, UNAIR Rector hoped that principals and teachers will fully understand about UNAIR admission.

“So later the results (registration of SN-SBMPTN and independent admission by students, ed) can be understood. Because so far there are still many questions from schools, “explained Prof. Nasih. (*)
