UNAIR Hospital Facilitates International Program Students with Integrated Medical Check Up Services

UNAIR NEWS – As one of the state universities with teaching hospitals, Universitas Airlangga has the responsibility of being a center for medical research and service in in Indonesia. Through Universitas Airlangga Teaching Hospital (RSUA), UNAIR continues to realize a variety of services. Both for the general public, as well as academics and medical researchers.

One of the breakthroughs from RSUA is a medical check- up services for international program students, especially for scholarship applicants and students who continue their education abroad.

Head of Marketing at RSUA, dr. Niken Sasadhara Sasmita said that the service is a form of support and facilities for all UNAIR students to continue their education abroad. Reflecting on the previous year, continued Dr. Niken, the percentage of students applying for medical check-up services continued to increase. It includes the number of students from UNAIR.

“Not only for students of Universitas Airlangga, but also for general students,” she said.

“However, in percentage, from UNAIR reached 60-70 percent,” she added.

The program called Airlangga Integrated MCU (Medical Check-Up) for Scholarship, was a response to the increasing scientific activities abroad conducted by UNAIR. There is a rising trend on number of students interested in applying for scholarships abroad.

“Student exchange activities, conferences are increasing in demand for students,” she said.

“Therefore, RSUA facilitates this (high interest of students, ed) by facilitating the fulfillment of the requirements that must be met for applying students,” she added.

Some countries in Asia and Europe regions are targeted by students for scholarships. In Asian region, said Dr. Niken, Japan and Korea receives great interests. The degree of education also starts from bachelor’s to doctoral program.

According to Dr. Niken, several advantages given from Airlangga Integrated MCU for Scholarship service. RSUA is classified as a government-owned hospital, under the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. The services are integrated with other specialists and the results of check-ups are published in two languages.

“The results can be acquired faster, on the day after the test. There is also vaccination service, adult vaccine is a requirement for flying to other countries, ” she said.

In the end, dr. Niken hoped that Airlangga Integrated MCU for Scholarship service program could support educational activities in UNAIR on international scene as well as students in general.

“Through integrated, easy, fast and inexpensive healthcare facilities,” she concluded. (*)
