Narasi TV Surabaya Road Show at UNAIR Questions People’s Representatives’ Resolve

UNAIR NEWS – The excitement and festivities were seen in the second day of Narasi TV Surabaya Road Show at Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), Campus C on Friday afternoon, Feb. 1 2019. The high enthusiasm of students who came on the second day was seen from the large queue of participants who were willing to wait in front of the building.

The crowd was dominated by students from various universities in Surabaya such as Surabaya State University, University of Surabaya, Petra University, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, and Universitas Airlangga. They were willing to wait outside the entrance of the 2-story building two hours before the event began at 3:00 p.m.

The event which presented a number of legislative candidates from several parties was opened with a laughter and prizes awarding session such as in forms of airline free tickets by tiket.com. The prize was given to two lucky students.

The excitement of Narasi TV program continued with a light talk show that presented Vania Santoso as a local hero in Go Green movement. Vania is an alumna of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR which has an iconic bag business made of cement waste paper.

There was also a music group from Surabaya, Klantink, singing several songs. A few moments later, Najwa Shihab as the host of the event opened the talk show by greeting all audience and UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak., CMA.

“Assalamualaikum. Good afternoon Surabaya, a city that is always special with extraordinary young people, “said Mbak Nana followed by the audience applause.

Catatan Najwa at that time presented eight candidates of legislative representative from various parties participating in April 2019 simultaneous election. They were Johan Budi, Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle(PDI-P); Djamal Aziz, Gerindra Party; Priyo Budi Santoso, Working Party; Guntur Romli, Indonesian Solidarity Party (PSI); Viva Yoga Mauladi, National Mandate Party (PAN); Vena Melinda National Democratic Party (Nasdem); Imelda Sari Democratic Party; and Fandi Utomo, National Awakening Party (PKB). All politicians discussed the performance of DPR for one period and explained their programs.

According to data presented in the talk show, the performance of DPR has not been able to reach the work targets that have been given. Therefore, Nana tried to confirm and asked the reasons from the legislative candidates.

“So is it true, ladies and gentlemen? The performance of the DPR so far has not given anything? Or even do nothing, “Nana said to the politicians.

Meanwhile, during the discussion between the legislative candidates, the audience was very enthusiastic, gave applause and responses, especially when Nana’s questions make the politicians have difficulty to answer, Nana is gutsy in making comments and criticism.

The talk show continued with a question and answer session surrounding the interests of the legislative candidates to convince voters to give their vote. In the end, Nana gave the opportunity for two audience to ask their questions. The discussion with the legislative candidates was important to make their vision known to the general public. In this election, the votes from youth dominated. Therefore, it is expected that young people will not be easily consumed by interesting, but real, program issues.
