UNAIR NEWS – The existence of an organization or community is needed to strengthen relations between its members and achieve common goals. One of them is regional student organization (Ormada) Ikatan Ksatria Airlangga Lampung (Isagalam). Before, there was no organization for Lampung student at Universitas Airlangga, Isagalam was established on September 9, 2018.
Suarma Nandika, Head of Isagalam said that the purpose of Isagalam’s establishment was to embrace and become a family for Lampung students at UNAIR. In addition, the existence of Isagalam became a communication forum for students from Lampung.
“The presence of Isagalam is a breath of fresh air for UNAIR students from Lampung to find friends from their hometown,” said the Sociology student batch 2018 UNAIR.
Suarma stated, Isagalam had several routine programs. Among them, ngupi pay, which a sharing forum activity every two weeks. While on semester break, the organization carried out Isagalam Mulang Pekon program by giving an introduction to UNAIR for high school students throughout Lampung. Moreover, when the earthquake triggered tsunami in Lampung in late 2018, The organization held Isagalam Peduli by opening donations for tsunami victims.
“We also built a public kitchen with other organization in Lampung,” he added.
Currently, there are 20 active members in Isagalam. Suarma said, the way to socialize Isagalam members are share information with student groups and word of mouth. As an initial anticipation, continued Suarma, Isagalam was also introduced to high school students in Lampung.
“We also registered in each faculty so that all students from Lampung know about this organization,” he added.
The establishment of Isagalam was very important considering the communication between Lampung students are needed. Hopefuly, Lampung students organization can help student to communicate and bring positive impact for Lampung and UNAIR.
In the future, Isagalam continues to serve, both for UNAIR and Lampung. Suarma also hopes that Isagalam become a home for all of UNAIR students from Lampung. (*)
