UNAIR NEWS – Excellent achievement was made by Moot Court Community (KPS) of Faculty of Law, Universitas Airlangga. At the end of academic year, KPS FH UNAIR won another competition. The Semi-Autonomous Body founded in 2010 has just won a prestigious moot court competition at University of Indonesia on December 14-17.
The event was named Mutiara Mokosoentono X National Moot Court Competition (NMCC) is a national level moot court competition in the field of environmental crime and election crime held by University of Indonesia every two years.
This time, KPS FH UNAIR sent a delegation of 18 FH students. In the competition they had to compete with delegations from six universities, Padjajaran University, Brawijaya University, Indonesian Islamic University, Mataram University, Borobudur University, and Bina Nusantara University.
Syahril, one of the delegation team members, said that all the preparations made took three months. Every day the team trains starting at 9:00 a.m. Even Syahril said, he and his friends could spend almost 24 hours nonstop to practice.
Thanks to the team’s hard work and guidance from one of the lecturers as supervisor, Iqbal Felisiano, SH, LL.M., KPS FH UNAIR successfully defended the championship. Not only was named the first winner, KPS FH also received four other titles, Best Legal Advisor, Best Public Prosecutor, Best Clerk of Court, and Best Witness / Expert.
Syahril, expressed his gratitude and pride because FH KPS made another achievements. Previously, the FH UNAIR KPS Team had won the same championship three times in a row.
“Very happy and proud, because we can achieve what is desired and defend the title,” said Syahril.
He also hoped that in the future FH UNAIR KPS could continue success and become a champion in every moot court competition in Indonesia.
“Hopefully it can improve the achievements,” concluded the 2016 FH student.
