UNAIR NEWS – Receiving grant from Bank Indonesia, 13 students from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held Ksatria Maritime Project (KMP) on Gili Noko Island, Gresik Regency. Started from Nurruzaman Mosque and arrived at Bawean Island Port on Saturday, 11 November.
The 13 students were Anca Laika, Sufi Aulia, M. Da’i, Arum, Sufiati, Pandu, Ismi, Nia, Rizal, Maulyya, Rizki, Ilham and Diza.
Anca Laika as coordinator said Ksatria Maritime Project (KMP) is a community service program focused on Outermost, Frontier, and Disadvanted area (3T) in Indonesia.
“The program (community service, ed) was the first event that has been held after Nusantara Jaya Expedition (ENJ) event series on 2018,” said student from Faculty of Public Health.
Community Service Program
There were three main service program. First, Socialization about Cikur (the authenticity of our currency, rupiah). That is, providing information for Bawean community regarding to authenticity of our currency, rupiah that the team had already received debriefing from Bank Indonesia.
Secondly, Dermaga Baca. The committee established a reading house in SDN Sidogentung Batu 4, which contained books, maps, blackboards, and stationary.
“Later, its all for the children in there. In order to increase their interest in reading from early age, “said Anca.
Third, the installation of solar panels will be in the elementary school for reading houses and roads lighting.
“The panel that we installed has a capacity of 100 wp and it’s enough to light 10 lamp for 12 hours, “he added.
From this activity, Anca hoped to improve the welfare of Gili Noko Island community, through seven day community service program.
“Hopefully, reading house and solar panels can be beneficial for them. And we as the committee also hope that other UNAIR students are also willing to serve on Gili Islands, “he concluded. (*)
