UNAIR NEWS – Bakti Sehat Airlangga (BSA) is an annual event organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Universitas Airlangga. The event was opened with blood donor activity on Thursday, 1 November until Monday, 5 November and closed with a general health,dental and oral hygiene exam on Sunday, 11 November.
Novia Ambar Larasati, Dental Medicine student from Faculty of Dental Medicine and in charged as Head of BSA said that there was a blood donation for 3 days in each campuses on UNAIR, Campus C, B, dan A UNAIR.
“The blood donation activity this time was participated by around 150 people. Because, for each campus was limited for 50 to 60 participants only,” said Ambar.
According to her, the blood donor activity was attended by all UNAIR academics. Not only students, but also employees.
“When this event was held at Campus C for the first time, most participants were employees,” she said.
According to Ambar, the enthusiasm was quite high. Moreover, when this was held at Campus C for the first time, committees had to reject some donors who wanted to donate their blood.because at that time, it was closed earlier by PMI. Apart from fulfilling the quota, it was also done to keep blood in fresh condition.
BSA event will be closed on Sunday, 11 November on Fun Sunday as 64th Anniversary celebration at Campus C. In the closing event, there will be a free health check exam provided by committees.
“In the free health exam, they will check the blood sugar level, cholesterol level, uric acid and dental and oral health,” said Ambar.
Ambar hoped that the objectives of BSA to promote more health awareness and bring social awareness will be achieved. (*)
