UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof Dr Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak announced 45 students who received the 2022 Golden Ticket on Saturday, March 12, 2022. The event was broadcasted live from Garuda Mukti Hall, UNAIR Management Office, through Zoom Meeting and YouTube.
The Golden Ticket recipients have been through selections among 792 applicants. Prof Nasih emphasized that Golden Ticket recipients are not reducing State University National Entrance Exam based on students’ achievement (SNMPTN) quota.
“SNMPTN quota is around 1.260, added with fifty minimum (Golden Ticket recipients, ed) we will accept more or less 1.300,” said the UNAIR Rector.
Previously, Rector has announced five Golden Ticket recipients at Airlangga Education Expo (AEE) closing event. The Golden Ticket recipients are spread in every faculty. From the Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Economics and Business, to Faculty of Humanities. Most of them chose UNAIR as the first university in SNMPTN selection.
Rector explained that Golden Ticket recipients are those who have astounding achievements in academic or non-academic fields. The achievements in non-academic fields are varied according to the study program selected, such as innovation, entrepreneurship, organization and management, leadership, sport, religion, and other achievements.
“What we are announcing today is which whom extra weight of their achievements is higher. The selection is in accordance with extra achievements that became accompanying factor and adds to their intra academic achievements,” said the Faculty of Economy and Business (FEB) lecturer.
The Golden Ticket recipients are coming from various schools in Indonesia. Such as SMAN 5 Surabaya, SMAN 1 Giri Banyuwangi, SMAN 2 South Tangerang City, SMAN 1 West Cikarang, SMAN 2 Sampit, SMAS Unggulan Amanatul Ummah, and SMAS St Maria 1 Bandung. Some of them are the head of Intra School Student Organization (OSIS), olympiad gold medal achiever, student who memorized the book of the Quran, and other non-academic achievements. (*)
