UNAIR NEWSUniversitas Airlangga’s students through the Community Service Program (KKN) – Learning with Community (BBM)  give dissemination regarding free sex prevention and early marriage to teenagers in Ponorogo regency on Saturday, February 5, 2022.

Dissemination held at Bedikulon Village Hall targeted 36 teenagers. Those who joined the dissemination are teenagers aged 12-18 years old in general. Representing Group 129, Febrina Ratih Syandria mentioned that this activity is motivated by the lack of knowledge of Ponorogo teenagers related to sexual health and the dangers of free sex behavior.

Febrina explained that in early 2022, Ponorogo experienced increasing early marriage dispensation submissions. “Our society still thinks that sex education and discourse about free sex behavior are taboos. Though this issue should be discussed so that the younger generation avoids free sex behavior,” she explained.

Many material and issues regarding the danger of free sex, the cause of adolescents falling into that behavior, the risk of sexually transmitted diseases, and the negative impact of early marriage was shared In the dissemination. Group 129 also opened a discussion forum to the dissemination participants to build a two-way discussion.

“During the dissemination, we also presented case studies regarding the real phenomenon in Ponorogo about 226 teenagers who submit early marriage dispensation. It hopes to attract the attention of participants because they still lack information about the dangers of free sex behavior and early marriage,” she highlighted.

Other community services

Besides dissemination on the danger of free sex, group 129 also held other community services such as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM) branding webinar, Bedikulon Waste Processing Sorting / Bedikulon Ngolah Pilah Sampah (Ngopilah), and study houses for elementary students.

In Bedikulon Ngopilah, for example, they introduced eco brick method to villagers. Ecobrick is a method of minimizing plastic waste into valuable items such as tables, chairs, walls, or art items.
