UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga and PT. Jasa Raharja signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, in the Plenary Meeting Room of the Balairua Hall 4th floor of Management Office Campus C Universitas Airlangga. UNAIR and PT Jasa Raharja signed the MoU on Synergy to Improve Traffic Safety.

The cooperation agreement contained in the MoU was signed directly by UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak, and Director of Institutional Relations of Jasa Raharja, Munadi Herlambang.

Jasa Raharja’s arrival was also welcomed by UNAIR Secretary, Dr. Koko Srimulyo, Drs., M.Si.; Vice Rector for Resources, Dr. Muhammad Madyan S.E., M.Si., M.Fin.; Head of Partnerships and Development Management Board (BKMP), Dr. Eko Supeno, Drs., M.Si.; and Secretary of BKMP, Dr. Dewi Retno Suminar, M.Si., Psychologist.

Munadi Herlambang revealed that the purpose of the collaboration with UNAIR is to get closer to UNAIR students’ Agent of Change to develop literacy on safety campaigns/dissemination on traffic safety.

“We want to create innovations with UNAIR to reduce the number of accidents in the form of either equipment or social development. We want to educate the public to change their negligent driving habits,” said Munadi.

It is the duty of Jasa Raharja as the provider of compulsory insurance, social insurance, and accident insurance to protect victims of third-party accidents. Both Indonesian citizens and foreign nationals residing in Indonesia are under the protection of Jasa Raharja.

UNAIR is one of the first universities in East Java to collaborate with Jasa Raharja. This, continued Munadi, is based on the number of study programs and the high rank of UNAIR.

“Through this MoU, we also open up opportunities for networks, internships, and scholarships,” he explained.

On the same occasion, Prof. Nasih expressed the importance of consensus to open doors of opportunity for both parties. “UNAIR will prepare the Independent Campus program with Jasa Raharja strategically to take advantage of,” said UNAIR Rector.

Jasa Raharja is in a leading position to protect accident victims. Especially at a young age, continued Prof. Nasih, students are so excited that they may be involved in an accident. “Safety is very important for all of us,” he said

In the future, UNAIR will involve more units to further synergize with Jasa Raharja and involve students to provide education and dissemination that can intersect with certain subjects,” he concluded. (*)
