UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is committed to making a significant contribution to the wider community at local, national, and global levels. It is evidenced by the fact that faculties within UNAIR are working together carrying out SDGs programs. Furthermore, to examine activities on each SDGs indicator and in the context of UNAIR’s participation in Times Higher Education IMPACT ranking, UNAIR SDGs Center team held a roadshow to faculties.

The roadshow held during the second semester of 2021 was also part of SDG 4, quality education that leads to the dissemination of the SDGs. The roadshow activities have been carried out in seven faculties, Faculty of Nursing (FKp), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM), Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Faculty of Pharmacy (FF), and the last one is hybrid, both online and offline at Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG).

Bayu Arie Fianto, SE, MBA, PhD as Head of UNAIR SDGs Center, explained the importance of roadshow activities, and UNAIR SDGs Center team is always willing to provide understanding and assistance regarding flagship SDGs that can be carried out more optimally in each faculty.

“The roadshow activity can be a bridge between UNAIR SDGs Center team and the SDGs team in faculties, and to explain and provide a more detailed understanding related to the SDGs intended for each faculty,” said Bayu.

The Faculty of Nursing (FKp) became the first to ask for a roadshow activity by inviting the UNAIR SDGs Center team online on Thursday, August 26, 2021. After that, on Friday, Augsut 27, 2021, a roadshow activity was held by the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) in the morning, followed by the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) on the same day.

The following month, to be precise, on Thursday, September 2, 2021,  a roadshow was held at Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM) and the Faculty of Humanities (FIB) on Wednesday, September 28, 2021.

In October, the Faculty of Pharmacy (FF) followed an online roadshow on Monday, October 18, 2021. Then for the first time, the roadshow activity was carried out offline and broadcast online via Zoom, by the Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) on Friday, November 29, 2021. The face-to-face roadshow activity at FKG was then continued with training and mentoring by the UNAIR SDGs Center team to the FKG SDGs team in filling out SDGs activities carried out by the FKG academic community.

“Procurement of roadshow activities to seven faculties within three months is significant progress towards SDGs awareness among UNAIR academic community. Hopefully, more and more people will participate in activities related to the SDGs in the future, not only in roadshow activities,” concluded Bayu. (*)
