UNAIR NEWS – Closing 2021, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga held an inauguration of student achievements entitled “Together in Synergy to Create Highest Achievements” online and offline at Grand Dafam Hotel Surabaya on Thursday, December 22, 2021.

It was held to summon up students’ enthusiasm in making achievements, both academic and non-academic. In the opening session, the Dean of FEB UNAIR Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak., CMA., CA. revealed that 567 outstanding students received Rp. 330,000,000 cash reward.

Dian also mentioned the achievements in each department at FEB UNAIR over the past year. In the Accounting department, the total students’ achievements are 181. This figure is similar to the achievements of the Islamic Economics department. Furthermore, the third position is Management with 110 achievements. Then Development Economics at the fourth position, with 95 achievements.

The total achievements are based on accumulated competitions at international, national and regional levels. The faculty projects that 600 students can make achievements in 300 national events, and 50 students can excel at 25 international events in 2022.

On that occasion, the Dean of FEB UNAIR greatly appreciated all students who made UNAIR proud.

“I am very proud of all the achievements of FEB UNAIR students. Thank you very much for all the achievements of my younger students and also my fellow lecturers, especially P3M (Student Achievement Assistance Center, ed),” she said.

“The faculty cannot give much. On average, each student gets one million. So no need to consider the sum. It is a form of our gratitude, “said Prof. Dian.

Furthermore, there was a sharing session with the Chairperson of P3M, Angga Erlando, SE., M.Ec.Dev. as moderator. One of the speakers was Della Adisty Handayani, who won the Archery Gold medal at the XX Papua National Sports Week (PON) 2021.

She proposed a policy from the faculty to give special treatment to students with non-academic achievements, especially in sports.

“The preparation is no longer months, but years. I practiced for four years for the 2016 PON event. At that time, I missed a lot of quizzes, but Alhamdulillah my midterm and end-of-term were still adequate. With great respect, I suggest if possible, in the future, there should be a dispensation system for this,” said Della.

Interestingly, FEB UNAIR agreed to this, and it will be considered. It is proof that UNAIR always provides moral and material support for the sustainability of student achievements. (*)
