UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR Student Executive Board (BEM) is holding an international conference titled Airlangga International Conference (AIC). The Ministry of Foreign Affairs organizes it to improve the climate of international competition among students.

“We have three goals from the SDGs, Gender Equality, Economic Growth, and Climate Change. The future does not only belong to a few groups, but belongs to all of humanity, which must be fought for, starting with us for all,” said Siti Khofsoh as Head of Media Partner Coordination of AIC.

The conference themed ‘Empowering Readiness for Multidimensional Solutions in the Post-Pandemic Phase of SDGs’ consisted of various events, including international webinars, paper competitions, cultural shows, and group discussion forums that would produce a final joint statement. This event is also a medium for all participants to introduce the culture of each country.

The series of AIC events will begin on December 8, 2021. The event is opened with a technical meeting and welcome party, then continued on December 9, 2021, the opening ceremony presenting keynote speakers related to the major themes raised.

The Forum Group Discussion is held on December 9, 2021, to present the results of the papers that the delegates have made. Then, on the last day, on December 12, 2021, the delegation will hold a cultural convention and continue with the awarding.

Participants or delegates from various countries can participate by filling in the registration form at www.airlanggaconference.com. Registration is open from November 1 to December 1, 2021, while papers can be submitted from November 2 to December 1, 2021.

Participants are eligible to join this international conference if they meet the requirements, being active students from universities around the world with a minimum age of 19 years and not more than 25 years old, and committed to participating in the entire series of events.

Furthermore, participants must also have English language skills, adaptability, problem mastery, and critical thinking skills.

In making this event a success, Siti said AIC cooperates with various parties, especially those related to international parties, such as Airlangga Global Engagement and several Indonesian Student Associations (PPI).

“AGE helps us to write to universities partnering with AGE abroad, while PPI and KUI help promote the event as well as send representatives as delegates,” she explained.

“Meanwhile, at the national level, we, the committee, through the Media Partner Division, cooperate with several media such as national TV and platforms to attract the attention of potential domestic delegates,” continued Siti.

The end result of this program is to facilitate and inspire UNAIR students to continue to excel and bring the good name of Universitas Airlangga at the international level and increase youth awareness of global issues.

“AIC marks the new era of humanity, come join us to make a better future and be sustainable for the next generations,” concluded Siti. (*)
