UNAIR NEWS – Gymnastics with the academic community and an exhibition of innovative products from the Faculty of Vocational Studies enlivened the series of Universitas Airlangga’s 67th Anniversary events on Sunday, November 7, 2021. The front yard of the UNAIR Management Office Building Campus C looked lively again even though UNAIR has celebrated its anniversary for the second time during the Covid-19 pandemic.

With strict implementation of health protocols, the events were attended by officials of universities, faculties, institutions, and community representatives from all UNAIR units. In addition to gymnastics, the community could find and get vocational innovation product services for free. The participants also had the opportunity to get attractive door prizes from the committee through a lucky draw.

Gymnastics for health care

UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., in his opening remarks, invited the entire academic community to move their body together enthusiastically during the gymnastics. This is a message of synergy and solidity among elements in the university to encourage achievement and progress in the future jointly.

“Good morning! UNAIR HEBAT (GREAT). UNAIR HEBAT,” said Prof Nasih encouraging the gymnastics participants.

Increasing concern for health was Prof. Nasih’s next message in his speech. He believes increasing awareness is a must for now even though the government began to ease community activities, following the Covid-19 “new normal” trend.

“This morning, we will do gymnastics to build more concern for health. We must remain aware. We have to stay healthy,” he said.

In addition, Prof. Nasih assessed that gymnastics could also build and maintain friendship among the community and foster synergy among units. Hopefully, this would trigger the growth of enthusiasm and strength to welcome positive things both for internal and external parties in the future.

Moreover, the morning gymnastics also practiced two exercises at once for osteoporosis and breathing. The breathing exercise is one of the objects of research by the UNAIR Faculty of Vocational Studies lecturer.

Vocational Innovation Products

Meanwhile, a number of innovative products from the Faculty of Vocational Studies UNAIR also enlivened UNAIR’s 67th Anniversary commemoration. The innovative products made by lecturers, departments, and students were exhibited at booths in the UNAIR Management Office Building’s yard. These products included beverage products, technological innovations, and service innovations.

The food and beverage products consisted of processed herbal plant extracts, flowers, leaves, and other compositions. In addition, massage services were also opened by lecturers and students of the Traditional Medicine (Batra) Study Program of the Faculty of Vocational Studies UNAIR.

Based on the agenda, the commemoration of the Anniversary coordinated by the Faculty of Vocational Studies will be continued with the agenda of the 67th Anniversary Session on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, and the Heroes’ Day Ceremony, Workshop, and Recitation on Wednesday, November 10, 2021.
