UNAIR NEWS – Seeing the changing times and habits of various generations, Generation Z has unique characteristics for being highly literate in information technology and using technologies as a part of their lives. With that being said, the Directorate of Information Systems and Digitalization (DSID) of Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) has developed the cybercampus mobile version apps based on Android. This application is called ‘Kampus Kita’, which contains information related to the activities of UNAIR in both academics and non-academics.

Director of DSID, Yunus Abdul Halim S. Si, M. Kom, said that this application is the answer to the challenges of times and the needs of the younger generation. The apps will make it easier for Generation Z to access academic services through their devices.

“We have to accommodate the needs of this generation, so UNAIR will always be close to its academics and the community. It is one of the examples showing UNAIR will always be up to date with the current developments, especially in terms of academic services for the academic community,” said Yunus.

Yunus stated that ‘Kampus Kita’ is divided into four apps, ‘Kampus Kita Mahasiswa’, ‘Kampus Kita Dosen’, ‘Kampus Kita Orang Tua’, and ‘Kampus Kita Tendik’. With the usage of each app, hopefully, the academic community can become closer to data.

Kampus Kita for students

With this app, the students can easily access their personal information through their mobile phones, including viewing their GPA, academic status, lecture attendance lists, academic calendars, academic reports, transcripts, tuition fee payments, news about UNAIR, and other notifications related to the students and UNAIR.

“They no longer need to open the cybercampus website to check their personal data. This application will be really helpful for them to access the information during studies,” stated Yunus.

Kampus Kita for lecturers

In the lecturer app, lecturers can take advantage of the features of lecturer data, supervised students’ data, teaching schedules, academic calendar, attendance, research, and community service.

“With this feature, lecturers will find it easy to approve students’ study plan whenever and wherever they are,” Yunus explained.

Kampus Kita for parents

With this application, parents can easily monitor their children’s studies in UNAIR. Parents can find their child’s personal data, GPA, academic status, students study schedule, attendance list, academic calendar, academic reports, transcripts, tuition fee payments, and other news and information about UNAIR.

“This application was created to accommodate the parents’ needs in monitoring their child’s activities remotely. Therefore, parents won’t have to worry about their children’s studies at UNAIR,” explained Yunus.

Kampus Kita for administrative staff

Not only lecturers, students and parents, but the administrative staff can also use the application features, showing attendance data, logbook, user data, and overtime hours.

“To check the personal data and attendance, the administrative staff no longer need to open the website, it is enough with opening the app anywhere and anytime,” said Yunus.

In the end, Yunus stated that the features in these apps should be put to good use. The community and the academic community can easily access the information regarding both academic and non-academic. To get these apps, the academics and community can download them from the Play Store and then log in using the username and password registered on cybercampus.
