UNAIR NEWS – The East Java GenRe (Planning Generation) Ambassador election was just held on Friday, July 16, 2021 through the YouTube platform. Two Universitas Airlangga’s students won titles at the event.

The East Java GenRe Ambassador 2021 was organized by Insan GenRe Jawa Timur (East Java GenRe Personnel) under the auspices of the BKKBN (National Population and Family Planning Board). It is an effort to share experiences so that they can inspire and build the spirit of creativity and innovation for young people throughout East Java.

Beny Aji Ifaudi Rahman, a student of Faculty of Medicine (FK) UNAIR, won the title of Inspiring Social Media GenRe Ambassador of East Java 2021. Beny, admitted that it is an honor to be able to compete in the East Java GenRe Ambassador.

“It is an honor for me to be able to compete in East Java where I represent Situbondo at the GenRe Ambassador event,” he said on Sunday, July 25, 2021.

Beny said that the GenRe Ambassador event is one of the biggest annual events of the East Java BKKBN, which is held to appreciate Gen Rangers or GenRe activists who have served as GenRe Ambassadors.

“With this title, I am delighted because I managed to achieve my dream about a year ago,” he continued.

Previously, Beny had tried various competitions similar to the GenRe Ambassador, such as the East Java Sanitation Ambassador, the East Java Student Ambassador, and the East Java Pancasila Ambassador, in which he became the winner.

“I take them as a lesson, motivation, and experience for me so that I understand this is my passion. This is the talent that I have, especially in the field of public speaking, and that was what I showed at the GenRe Ambassador event,” said the young man born on March 22, 2003.

GenRe Ambassadors have an inspiring lifetime program. In addition, GenRe Ambassadors must be able to inspire and spread GenRe ‘viruses,’ especially to young people around them. Beny revealed that the program is the same. The only difference is the scope.

“Initially, I competed in and only in a district area, but then the competition scope became wider up to East Java, although I was not sent to the national level later. This is me contributing to East Java, contributing to GenRe,” he added.

In the future, Beny planned to be able to carry out his duties as a GenRe Ambassador. He hoped he could promote and disseminate GenRe campaign, online via social media and offline.

“For example, campaigning at school, then doing an Instagram live with inspiring people,” he said.

Furthermore, Beny planned to participate in similar ambassador competitions. “Participating in ambassador competitions can trigger me to excel at Universitas Airlangga,” he concluded. (*)
