UNAIR NEWS – Ambassador of Republic of Poland, H.E Ms. Beata Stoczynska made a visit to Universitas Airlangga on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. The visit was held at Plenary room to explore possible future cooperation between the two parties.
H.E Ms. Beata Stoczynska was accompanied by Honorary Consul to Republic of Poland in Surabaya, Soedomo Mergonoto and embassy delegation were welcomed by UNAIR Vice Rector I Prof. Djoko Santoso, Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) team and several faculty leaders.
During her visit, Ms. Beata Stoczynska said that she felt welcomed, considering it was the first time the Polish Ambassador visited Universitas Airlangga. Although previously several universities have collaborated with UNAIR.
“Hopefully, there will be further collaboration between Universitas Airlangga and universities in Poland,” she said.
She explained that in Poland, there are several excellent medical schools. Not only in the medical field, but she also wants to collaborate with UNAIR in other fields such as social, pharmaceutical, business, natural sciences, public health.
“I’m happy to witness UNAIR’s extraordinary achievements. A lot of cooperation has been carried out by UNAIR, especially with Asian and European Universities. Congratulation for several study programs that have been internationally accredited, “she said.
“It is hoped that the collaboration can be mutually beneficial to both parties in improving the education quality. Not only about the health sector but also gender study, “he said.
Meanwhile, Vice Rector I Prof. Djoko Santoso said the visitation was an excellent opportunity in increasing internationalization activities. During the visit, the two parties shared experiences about academic events between Poland and UNAIR.
“I hope this cooperation will not only focus on the educational process but also academic research, publications and citation of students and lecturers, “he said.
In this regard, Prof. Djoko also appreciated the collaboration that has been carried out between University of Warsaw, University of Opole, Medical University of Lublin, University of Poland, Medical University of Gdanzk, University in Lodz, Medical University of Bialystok and Universitas Airlangga. UNAIR and Poland will conduct an ICM exchange program for student and lecturer exchanges.
“It is one of the European Union government program. UNAIR has the opportunity to conduct an exchange program with University of Warsaw and University of Opole, “he concluded.
