UNAIR NEWS – The cooperation between Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and several universities from different countries has run well and provided outstanding feedback, especially with Management and Science University (MSU) Malaysia. Moreover, with the World Class University (WCU) program, UNAIR has been intensifying exchanges and several other programs.

One of the programs supporting the WCU program is Information Systems (SI) Bachelor’s Program UNAIR.  On July 30, 2019, Head of Information System program, Dr. Rimuljo Hendradi S.Si., M.Si. explained that there is a plan for a double degree program with MSU Computer Science in 2020. The meeting coincided with a discussion for the double degree plan together with the head of the MSU Information and Computation department.

“The plan for a double degree with MSU is in data preparation phase,” said the Head of SI Program.

As a study program that started the double degree program at Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UNAIR chose MSU because the costs are not too expensive. “As the cost to Malaysia is the same as to Jakarta. So, the cost is not too expensive. However, it is located abroad, “he added.

Implementation is carried out in 2020 because many documents are still being managed and there are accreditation issues. “Even though the dean had requested this plan to be realized this year. The large number of documents makes it impossible. It will be realized in 2020, “he said.

Dr. Hendra also said that the double degree program will be realized for new students in 2020. The advanced students only can do summer schoolBefore the program was planned, SI program had sent several students to summer school activities at several foreign universities.

“A few months ago there were four students who joined the summer schoolThere did not only learn in class but also study the cultureThose who come back are no longer ashamed to mingle with foreign students, “he said.

With this experience, Dr. Hendra hoped it could be used for the double degree program and affect the academic community to be more open with overseas students. In addition, both parties can develop together for the WCU program.

Meanwhile, Dr. Lilysuriazna Binti Raya as the Head of MSU’s Information and Computing Science Department added that she chose to collaborate with UNAIR because the culture in Indonesia is no different, especially for halal food“In Indonesia, the culture is no different, especially halal foodHopefully, it can be realized as soon as possible, ” she said.
