Ambassador of China Explores Collaboration with UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Huang Xilian, Ambassador of China to ASEAN collaborated with Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) on Thursday April 11 at Rector Meeting Room 4th Floor,  Management Office Campus C UNAIR. There was collaboration to strengthen relations between ASEAN countries.

The meeting was attended by Vice Rector I Prof. Djoko Santoso, Dr., SpPD, KGH., FINASIM, Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE., M.Si., M.Fin, Vice Rector III Prof. Ir. Moch. Amin Alamsjah, M.Si., Ph.D, Vice Rector IV Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D., Apt, Executive Director of Airlangga Global Engagement Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, M. Si along with several Dean of Faculty in UNAIR. In addition, there was also Huang Xilian as Ambassador of China to ASEAN and Wang Yi as the First Secretary of Chinese Mission to ASEAN.

Huang Xilian as Ambassador of China to ASEAN revealed that Indonesia is one of the top priority countries. Hopefully, the collaboration with Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) will strengthen relations between countries in ASEAN.

“China has a strategic partnership with ASEAN region. In this case China-ASEAN Cooperation is the third largest cooperation in the world, “he added.

Huang Xilian continued in the next five years, Ambassador of China will provide China ASEAN Youth Scholarship program and there will be 1000 scholarships for ASEAN students. Hopefully, with this collaboration UNAIR can become part of 200,000 ASEAN student exchange students to China.

Meanwhile, Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., SpPD, KGH., FINASIM, as UNAIR Vice Rector I in his speech representing UNAIR Rector said the collaboration was expected to enable research collaboration, global partnership, and exchange programs to be established between the two countries.

“UNAIR now has 350 professors and 700 PHD degrees and more than 35,000 students.” Furthermore, there will be research collaboration in terms of education, social, culture, and other collaborations with universities in China.” he said. (*)
