UNAIR NEWS – One of the government’s efforts in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic is achieving herd immunity. The government is promoting vaccination across the country to achieve this goal. To support the government and accelerate vaccination efforts, UNAIR’s 64th Community Service Program (KKN) Group 38, in collaboration with the officials of Macan Putih Village, Kabat Sub-district, Banyuwangi Regency, organized first dose vaccination session for the residents of the village.

On Thursday, July 29, 2021, the vaccination session was carried out in the village hall by implementing strict health protocols. Nadia Putri Julieta Sitorus as the person in charge of the vaccination program, said that vaccination started at 08.00 WIB until it is finished. The vaccination program aims to give vaccination access to the community to achieve equal vaccine distribution.

“Especially for the residents of Macan Putih Village who have not received the first dose of vaccine, because there may be problems with vaccination mobility and the vaccination location is far from the village,” she explained.

Nadia also explained vaccination flow begins with registration and examination of administrative files, followed by a health check to ensure that the vaccinated residents are not Covid-19 survivors and are in good health. After the health examination process, residents declared healthy can get vaccinated. Finally, a final vaccination administration is done to give a vaccine certificate.

“After the vaccination process is complete, residents are required to collect the final administrative requirements to get a vaccine certificate as a requirement for the next vaccination,” she said.

In the end, Nadia hoped that with the vaccination held in Macan Putih Village, vaccines could be distributed more evenly so herd immunity can be achieved, especially for the residents of the White Tiger Village, and the KKN program can be carried out optimally and safely.

“Hopefully, it can form immunity for the residents of Macan Putih Village so they can avoid the spread of covid-19,” she concluded.
