UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s Institute for Innovation, Journal Development, Publishing and Intellectual Property Rights (LIPJPHKI) has released its Top 210 Best Researchers based on Google Scholar in the end of 2020. In this regard, the Head of LIPJPHKI UNAIR Prof. H. Hery Purnobasuki, Drs., M.Si., Ph.D., said that scientific publications in UNAIR have grown exponentially in recent years.
Furthermore, the Professor of Faculty of Science and Technology also emphasized that these achievements should be appreciated and preserved together. The awarding of Google Scholar version of Top 210 Best Researcher award, he continued, was a form of appreciation from UNAIR through his institute.
“This is UNAIR’s effort through LIPJPHKI to give appreciation to the performance of researchers and academics in encouraging improvement in international scientific publications and journals in UNAIR,” he said.
Google Scholar, he continued, as one of the indexers that are widely used in the academic world, has provided a ranking that needs to be observed and used together, especially as a performance measurement medium in UNAIR environment.
“The Google Scholar version of the Top 210 Researchers’ appreciation is expected to be a whip for researchers or academics who are in the top 210 ranks as well as an encouragement for all UNAIR researchers and academics in promoting publications,” he explained.
In the end, Prof. Hery also said that the biggest challenge faced by UNAIR is improving the quantity and quality of publications while building a sustainable research and innovation ecosystem with an impact on the community. LIPJPHKI, he said, is ready to always motivate, facilitate, and encourage researchers and academics to be more active in producing publications and to use various existing publication metrics for university ranking purposes.
“LIPJPHKI will not stop here with various kinds of activities or innovative programs to accelerate all activities in increasing publications, especially in terms of quality,” he concluded.
