PT Bank Mandiri donates 1.5 billion for COVID-19 handling

UNAIR NEWS – PT Bank Mandiri has made donation for health workers who handle COVID-19 at RSUA. It worths 1.5 billion rupiah in forms of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and PCR test kits.

The donation was given directly by I Gede Raka Arimbawa as Senior Vice President of PT. Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk Region VIII / Java 3 to UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, SE., MT, Ak., CMA in Rector’s Meeting Room, 4th Floor, Campus C on Friday, May 8, 2020. He said that there is a pressing need for medical workers in RSUA. Therefore, representing Central Office of PT Bank Mandiri he hoped that the donation could support the process of medical treatment of COVID-19 patient and could accelerate the response.

“I hope East Java, especially Surabaya, can recover from this pandemic. Hopefully this assistance can be useful and further strengthen the friendship between Bank Mandiri and Universitas Airlangga, “he said.

Meanwhile, Prof. Nasih said that the donation given was very meaningful for the medical workers. Because they are now at the forefront of COVID-19 handling, especially since the government appointed UNAIR as a COVID-19 test site, and RSUA as a referral hospital.
